In 2011, Shelters for Israel funded a new Remembrance Wall in the lobby of the Kiryat Malachi Library to honor family members lost in the Holocaust. The library, built in 1979 through the generous support of the founding families of Shelters for Israel, serves more than 5,000 active library members. In addition the library offers cultural and enrichment activities such as writing workshops for children and adults, art exhibits, poetry readings, visits from authors, a literature club, children’s activities and story time. The library also hosts internet classes for people who are visually impaired and for senior citizens.
